Conca De Barbera Wine

The Conca de Barberá denomination of origin is located towards the north of the province of Tarragona, bordering on the province of Lérida, and it forms part of the Ebro Basin, in the valleys of the Francolí and Anguera Rivers.

The natural environment of Conca is very homogeneous, with alluvial and diluvial soils with limestone, tertiary in origin and with a medium to strong consistency. These soils are quite loose and poor in organic matter, very suitable for growing grapes.

The vineyards of Conca del Barberá are centered in the white varieties of Macabeo, the red strain Trepat, from which rosé classics are obtained, Parellada, which is used for making sparkling wine, Garnacha and Tempranillo. Conca’s renovation has allowed some noble international varieties to get used to the climate, such as the strains of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
